The
detection of specific tissue components is extremely important
to many research disciplines and now it is easier than ever
thanks to improved tools for immunohistochemical analysis.
The use of novel antibodies, combined with new antibody
conjugates, allows you to identify cellular targets easily
and consistently. When it comes time to start your staining,
there are a couple of things to keep in mind. It is imperative
that your cells of interest are “fixed” prior to analysis
for a variety of reasons including; the prevention of soluble
tissue component diffusion, the cessation of enzymatic activity
and the prevention of structural decomposition. Once the
fixation process has been concluded, endogenous tissue components
must be inhibited and non-specific binding sites need to
be blocked before target antigens can be detected. There
are a range of products available today to assist you in
every step of your immunohistochemical analysis. You can
learn more about some of the options available for these
reagents and equipment among the products listed below.
Chemicon
Chemicon’s
IHC Select® Manual Staining System is a compact manual stainer
providing standardized staining of up to 40 IHC slides simultaneously.
The system employs capillary gap technology to reduce reagent
volume and minimize waste, yet provides an ideal environment
for staining reactions. The system is part of Chemicon's
extensive line of IHC Select® primary antibodies, individual
detection reagents, detection kits, and ancillary reagents

R&D Systems
R&D
Systems’ Cell and Tissue Staining Kits are intended for
localization of antigens in a broad range of histological
and cytological specimens. The kits are for detecting goat,
mouse and rabbit primary antibodies and utilize three different
chromogenic substrates. The high detection sensitivity of
R&D Systems’ staining kit is achieved by using high
quality Secondary Biotinylated Antibodies, and High Sensitivity
Streptavidin conjugated to HRP (HSS-HRP). The kits are made
in a ready-to-use format that eliminates the need for extra
steps in the procedure, minimizes hands-on time, maximizes
convenience and reduces the risk of erroneous calculations.

Lab Vision
Based on Lab
Vision's robust and reliable LV-1 Autostainer™ our new modular
systems introduce ultimate flexibility and maximum productivity.
Using high power computing, one system will run any combination
of 4 modules simultaneously, with all four programs separately
displayed. This feature allows for slide capacity from 36
slides up to 336 slides, using a single computer. All modules
include options for 2D data matrix "bar-coding" for slides
and reagents.
